Lunch & Learn: A Conversation Around Harm Reduction & Power Dynamics

All are welcome to join a presentation and discussion with Bethesda Project program staff, Andrew Huff, Autumn Jenkins, and Tori Johnson, surrounding their takeaways from the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference which took place this past July in Washington, DC.

The conference is one the largest opportunities for service providers, system leaders, advocates, and others to gather and share ideas. Autumn and Tori, both Program Coordinators at Bethesda Project’s Permanent Supportive Housing Sites, were selected to attend the conference as a professional development opportunity. Andrew, Senior Case Manager of Bethesda Project's Church Shelter Program, was invited to present at the conference on the Harm Reduction work being done in Bethesda Project’s Entry-Level Programs.

The conversation will focus on the importance of including individuals with lived expertise in organizational roles, acknowledging the complex role race plays in housing displacement, and acknowledging and including shelter occupants in decisions made about where they live. There will be time for thoughtful group discussion and questions. This is event is free and open to the public.
